Itanagar: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday blamed the Congress ruled-states of northeast for conniving with militant organisations to retain power during elections.

PJB’s northeast zonal organising secretary P Chandrasekhar Rao and BJP’s national general secretary Tapir Gao told media the Congress misrule had been evident in all the states ruled by the party leading to political crisis.

”The party is known to enter into secret agreement with NSCN and other militant organisations who intimidate other political parties during elections,” they claimed.

Citing the alleged internal strife within the Congress party in Arunachal Pradesh over the leadership issue, both the BJP leaders felt that the AICC party high command was showing least interest towards the present political uncertainty in the state and it seemed to be more keen on compromise formula.

Criticizing Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi for avoiding visiting the north east states, the BJP leaders said the Congress leaders at Delhi must own responsibility for the present state of affairs in the region as corruption had become a password for the party and there was loot of public exchequer causing great harm to the people of this sensitive region.

Rao informed the media that the party plans to go to the block and district levels to select suitable leaders for motivating the masses against the Congress misrule. The BJP appealed to the common people to revolt against the internal strife within the Congress party and called upon NGOs, student organisations to take the lead in this direction.

Gao appealed to all communities within the state, comprising 27 tribes, to exercise restraint and stand united and reminded the NES, ANSU and other NGOs that the future of Arunachal Pradesh rests on their shoulders.

He added that the Nyishi community being the largest tribe of the state, needed to shoulder the responsibility for preserving unity for a better future of the state. He also expressed pain over the death of a youth in the police firing on October 11 last. (UNI)
