New Delhi: A 25-year-old woman from Manipur was molested in the national capital when she went to a phone booth to make a call on Sunday night, police said on Monday. The incident took place at Timarpur in north Delhi. While she was making a call, a young man residing in same area molested her, police said. However, a youth from the North-East standing nearby came to help her but was badly beaten up by the accused’s two friends. The three then fled, said Madhu Chandra, spokesperson of North East Support Centre and Helpline. “After the incident, the boy was rushed to the Timapur police station. A case was lodged against the molester,” police said. While the two friends of the accused have been detained, the main culprit is absconding, said police. (IANS)
