HYDERABAD: Telangana Telugu Desam Party (TTDP) Forum Convenor Errabelli Dayakar Rao on Monday accused Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj Minister K Jana Reddy of betraying the Telangana issue.

Talking to mediapersons at Telugu Desam Legislature Party here on Monday , he said Mr Jana Reddy betrayed the Telangana people “exactly the way the 1969 movement for statehood was betrayed by Former Congress Chief Minister Marri Chenna Reddy.”

He criticised Mr Reddy’s statement asking the Telangana employees to withdraw the strike.

Mr Errabelli said it was the minister who led a group of Ministers, MLAs, MPs which openly supported the general strike and sought to know the reasons that led the Minister to change his stance asking the employees to withdraw the strike.

He also denied the allegations that the TDP had a secret pact with the Congress in the Banswada bye-elections.

He said the TDP leaders from the region have been giving boycott call for the by-elections and that is why the party did not fielded any candidate in the by-polls.

The TTDP Forum convenor was highly critical of Telangana Political Joint Action Committee and alleged it was no more a representative body of all pro-Telangana groups.

The TDP leader asked the Telangana employees “to come out of the clutches of Telangana Rashtra Samithi K Chandrasekhar Rao who is misusing the agitation to his own benefits.”

He said despite Telangana wave, the Congress candidate securing over 30,000 votes in Banswada by-elections was an indication that the people have started losing faith in TRS.The TDP MLA also informed that it would organise dharnas at all district collectorates in the region on October 18.

However, the programme would be held on October 19 in Nizamabad and Adilabad as the police did not give permission in view of BJP leader LK Advani’s rath yatra in those districts. (UNI)
