SDO holds meeting with neglected village Sordars

NONGSTOIN: SDO (Civil) Mairang, West Khasi Hills District, AM Sangma, held a meeting on Monday with the Sordars of five villages bordering Assam who recently expressed their willingness to merge with the Assam government for being neglected by the Meghalaya Government.

The meeting was attended by the KSU Mairang Circle executive members, BDO Mairang and the five Sordars led by P. Mawdoh, Sordar Sawlad village.

The meeting decided to hold a formal meeting at Sawlad village on October 28.Interestingly, it is learnt that on Tuesday the officials of Mairang wanted to shift the proposed meeting venue to a nearby village. However, the village Soldars refused to change the venue. They insisted that the meeting should be held at Sawlad village itself, or else the meeting be cancelled once and for all.
