Veterinary year

The World Veterinary Year Celebration organized by the Meghalaya Veterinary Services Association in collaboration with the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department concluded here on Friday.

Chief Secretary WMS Pariat, who was the chief guest in the occasion, said the veterinary sector is one of the sectors of the State’s Flagship, Integrated Basin Development and livelihood Programme and its main objective is to promote optimal and effective development for ensuring livelihood security and growth within a sustainable framework.

Silver Jubilee for Mt Carmel

Mt Carmel school, Mawlai Nongkwar, celebrated its silver jubilee on Thursday. The school run by the Catholic Managing Committee was founded by Fr Denis Troncana and (L) Fr Attard SDB in 1986. The school started off with a Khasi section and later extended to the English section. Since its inception, the school was managed by a dedicated teacher, Margaret Kharnaior.
