SHILLONG: A bomb scare sent public into a tizzy after a suitcase was found lying abandoned at a bus shed near Raj Bhavan in the city on Tuesday evening.

The unclaimed suitcase was spotted by some people who immediately informed the police suspecting that it might contain explosives. The police along with the bomb disposal squad arrived at the spot immediately. The bomb disposal squad opened the suitcase and found some clothes, an engineering book and an identity card of A Afzal, who is working as an engineer with Adhunik Cement in Jaintia Hills. Police suspect that some miscreants might have stolen the suitcase and later abandoned it at the bus shed.
