 SHILLONG: The State BJP has filed an RTI in connection with continuous on the part of the administration in commission of Myntdu Leshka Hydel Project.

“We have filed an RTI to know the ground reality,” the state BJP general secretary Dipayan Chakraborty said after the filing the RTI before Meghalaya Electricity Corporation Limited (MeECL) PIO on Tuesday. He said there were strong possibilities of shelving the project. “Due the escalation, the total project cost has been revised from initial Rs 360 crore to Rs 965 crore. But one thing we need to understand that money spend on the project is public money. The money has gone to the drains,” the BJP leader said.
