Clan moves admin against misrepresentation

 JOWAI: A particular clan in Jaintia Hills district accused a Mookhep village resident of misrepresentation and demanded that his Electoral Photo Identity Card be cancelled.

In a complaint the clan ‘Ka Sein Kur Siangshai’ has accused Raju Paul of Jaintia Hills district of changing his surname without permission or the knowledge of the clan.

The complaint was filed before the Additional Deputy Commissioner in Charge Khliehriat Sub-Division on Tuesday

The clan ‘Ka Sein Kur Siangshai Wapungskur’ general secretary, Reachingson Siangshai said Raju Paul, a non-tribal, has changed his name from Raju Paul to Raju Siangshai for his self interest without the consent of the member of Siangshai clan.”This is illegal as the person who did not belong to our clan has used the clan title for his self interest”, the clan Secretary, said. The Ka Sein Kur Siangshai has demand cancellation of the EPIC immediately and to punish him. Meanwhile, Siangshai also informed that the ADC has assured them that the EPIC will be cancelled and action will be initiated.
