Shillong: Police arrested three persons along with 45 batteries of a mobile company at Weiloi, West Khasi Hills, on Wednesday. Five others, however, managed to escape.
A vehicle (ML05 H 4645), which was carrying the stolen batteries from Mawsynram, was also seized. The trio have been identified as Jamal Ali (from Guwahati), Raju Das and Mintu Das (both from 6 Furlong, Shillong).
