One arrested , 25 mobiles seized

Twenty five mobile phones besides chargers and other accessories were seized from Samsul Uddin here in the city on Saturday. (ST)

SHILLONG: The State police on Saturday afternoon arrested one Md Samsul Uddin (34) and seized 25 mobile phones from his possession.

The arrest was made from the cantonment area near Anjalee cinema hall after the state police conducted a raid to nab the culprit.

During the search, police also recovered eleven sim cards, mobile chargers, mobile batteries and two money purse from the arrested person.

Police sources believe that there is a larger racket which is operating in the city by indulging in mobile phone stealing and snatching while the police is continuing its investigation to establish further links of the arrested person.
