Nepal Christians demand separate burial ground

Kathmandu: The Christian community of Nepal has threatened to launch a nationwide hunger strike if its demand for a separate burial ground in the capital is not met.

Theo Christian Burial Space National Struggle Committee has set Monday as the deadline for addressing their issue.

“The government has ignored our demands.” He said that even the committee formed under the Culture Ministry to recommend appropriate burial spaces has not done anything so far.

On October 3, the government had formed a seven member committee to suggest appropriate burial site for the Christians, Kirati and Muslim communities living in the Capital.

The committee with one month’s mandate has not done anything so far, he said. (PTI)
