PARADIP (ORISSA): senior official of the POSCO and four workers were injured when residents of Nuagaon village, the site for the proposed mega steel plant by South Korea steel major POSCO, assaulted them during a demolition drive of prawn gheries at the site on Tuesday.
Paradip SDPO Shantunu Dash today said a case had been registered at Kujang police station but no arrests has been made so far.
Mr Dash said POSCO DGM S N Singh and four wood cutters had gone to the Nuagaon village on Tuesday for chopping down trees and demolition of prawn gheries inside the areas proposed for the 12 MTPA steel plant.
The local people opposing the plant protested the demolition drive.
