Guwahati: A 12-hour bandh called in two eastern Assam districts by former ULFA members against the murder of another surrendered ULFA (SULFA) on Thursday evoked mixed response.

The former ULFA coordination committee had called for the dawn-to-dusk bandh in Tinsukia and Dibrugarh districts. Normal life was affected in most parts of the two districts in wake of the bandh call. Business establishments and educational institutions remained closed and vehicles also remained mostly off the roads. No reports of any untoward incident have been received yet. The bandh was called to protest the killing of SULFA Tileswar Lahon, who was shot dead in Dibrugarh on October 28. (UNI)
