TURA: Angered over an attempt to grab his patta land a father has withdrawn permission that was given to his son to start a leather goods industry in that plot in Rajabala constituency of West Garo Hills recently.

Md. Abdul Aziz Sk of Old Bhaitbari had through an affidavit given permission for his son Md. Mahbubur Rahman to start the industry under the Meghalaya Khadi and Village Industries Board on his patta land at Kalogaon area of Rajabala.

However, the son after getting training from the industry board did not take up the venture and instead joined the state government services after which he allegedly tried to grab the plot on the strength of the no-objection given by the father.

The father has since cancelled his no objection given to the son given that the leather industry never took off.
