The Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills (Supply), Jopthiaw Lyngdoh on Monday confirmed the date of the proposed meeting with various LPG distribution agencies in the city on Tuesday to deliberate on the new system of booking and refilling of gas cylinders.

It was informed that under the proposed system, a consumer would be able to book his gas cylinder a day after the delivery of the cylinder instead of waiting for 15 days for booking and 10 days for refilling as is being done now..“We will discuss the pros and cons of the new system.

The sole intention is to reduce people’s tensions by allowing consumers to book the gas cylinders before 25 days,” the DC said recently.
