Music, fashion come together at Naga festival

New Delhi: From the foot tapping tribal songs of the state to the vibrant traditional shawls worn in different forms — the capital today celebrated Tokhu Emong, the harvest festival of the Lotha tribe of Nagaland.

With the the theme of ‘One Heart one Festival’, the gala event focused on the integrity and sovereignty of the state and how the people from various tribes come together for celebration forgiving past animosity and bitterness.

“The festival is marked by preparing delicious delicacies and inviting all friends and relatives for feast, where all people enjoy by dining, singing and dancing together and wearing new dresses. There is also a trend of exchanging gifts of food and drinks as a token of love and friendship,” said Zuchamo Yanthan, Covener of the festival, here.

The cultural event came to an end when the well-known rock band of Northeast region, ‘Divine Connection’, enthralled the audience. (PTI)
