Shillong: Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma on Friday inaugurated the Wireless Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) at Ampati Sub Divisional Office (Civil) in Garo Hills.
Dr Sangma said that WiMAX is the latest technology being deployed for high speed data connection for long distances.
WiMAX is basically a type of certification given to an equipment supplier by WiMAX forum, an official press release said. (PTI)
