Court seeks report on bullet recovery from Haryana MLA

Agartala: A local court of Agartala asked for a detailed report from the police on Sunday in the case of recovery of a live bullet from the possession of sitting Congress MLA of Haryana Assembly and all India Youth Congress secretary Anil Dhantari who was released by the CISF on November 10 last.

Police said here following the direction of the court to submit a detailed report on the case by Nov 25 next, Agartala airport police station had registered a case and launched investigation.

Mr Dhantari had come here last week to oversee Rahul Gandhi’s rallies in Kailashahar and Udaipur on November 10.

The CISF recovered a bullet from his hand bag and detained him in the airport while he was retuning to Delhi. But CISF had allegedly released him as the Congress leader claimed of having a license pistol.

Judicial Magistrate (1st class) Shankari Das yesterday directed the officer in charge of Airport police station to conduct an investigation into the case and file a report to the court by November 25, asserting that in case any act of illegality came to the fore in the course of inquiry, a specific FIR would be filed against the MLA.
