Imphal: Manipur Education Minister D D Thaisi escaped unhurt when suspected NSCN-IM militants targeted his convoy in Senapati district, police said on Sunday. The ultras ambushed the minister’s convoy at Purul village when he was going to attend a public function last evening, they said, adding that one of his securitymen was injured in the incident.

The militants first exploded an improvised explosive device in front of the convoy and then started firing from both sides of the road, they said. (UNI)
