ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh unit of BJP has demanded immediate clarification from the Central as-well-as state governments on the reported Chinese firing at Indo-China border in Anjaw district of Arunachal Pradesh recently.
Addressing mediapersons here on Thursday, BJP’s national general secretary and former MP Tapir Gao quoting party sources, who was present at the meeting alleged that the incident was occurred from November 7 to 10, when Chinese Army crossed the McMohon Line and entered at Kibito area in Anjaw district of the state and had exchanged cross firing with Indian forces which lasted more than one hour.
Many Indian soldiers were injured in the incident were later shifted to the hospitals, he said.
Terming ‘Arunachal is in danger’, Mr Gao urged the ruling UPA government at the Centre and as-well-as state government to take up the issue very seriously and discuss the matter with its counterpart China that such incident does not repeat in future, as ‘the life and property of Arunachalee people and territory of the country should be safe’.
The national general secretary further alleged that the Central government with the influence of NSCN (IM) is contemplating for formation of Supra State Body (SSB) in the region by inducting Naga inhabited areas of Assam, Manipur and Tirap and Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh with Nagaland.
Quoting reported news which was published in various papers in the region and from reliable sources in the Home ministry, the BJP general secretary said the reported draft being made by Union Home Ministry, NSCN will look after all the administrative and developmental activities in its areas while, the Assam, Manipur and Arunachal governments will look after only the law and order situation.
However, the BJP leader yet to clear at how far the proposed SSB draft reached.
He appealed all the Congress ruled chief ministers of the said states to come forward with and what was the internal nexus for this dangerous proposal which will have impact on ethnic tribal people of this region.
Demanding clarification from the state chief minister Nabam Tuki, the BJP leader urged to come forward and made a public statement for creation of SSB which was proposing by the union government for solving the Naga problems.
”We want peace,” he said, adding but not the sake of ethnic and territorial disintegrity in the region. (UNI)
