Money for Home Guards personnel’s allowance released

 Shillong: The State government has released fund to pay allowances to Home Guards personnel used on traffic duty.

Four NGOs of the State had jointly set a 13-day deadline for the State Government to release the salaries of the traffic volunteers recently.

In a statement issued here on Thursday, the Director General of Police, N Ramachandran said fund regarding payment of allowances to the Home Guards volunteers of East Khasi Hills, Jaintia Hills and Ri Bhoi districts was released on Wednesday.

The fund is being allotted on priority basis to the concerned district for payment to the volunteers, the statement said.
