CM for greater transparency in recruitments

SHILLONG: Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma has clarified that he had never ‘admitted’ that there were errors in police recruitment while discussing the matter with the Ri Bhoi Youth Federation (RBYF) earlier this week.

Dr Sangma has, however, reiterated that proportional reservation for candidates from all seven districts of the State in the MLP battalions would be examined by the Government.

Dr Sangma said a similar policy is adopted by the Army and para-military organisations in that they reserve equal number of seats for ST candidates in each of the states of North East India. The Chief Minister said this proportional representation would be within the existing reservation policy of the State.

“The Government is committed to putting in place a transparent recruitment policy in all recruitment processes,” Dr Sangma said.
