Former army chief sentence to three years in prison

Sri Lankan prison guards escort defeated presidential candidate and former army chief Sarath Fonseka to a court room in Colombo, Sri Lanka on Friday. The court has sentenced Fonseka to three years in prison for reportedly implicating the nation’s defense secretary in war crimes during the final stages of the country’s civil war. (PTI)
