SHILLONG: The recent appointment of Dr D Roy from his parent department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary to the post of a Block Development Officer at Selsella C and RD Block, Garo Hills has called in for criticisms from the people of West Garo Hills citing that his performance as a BDO in the past was not up to the level expected by the people.

It is known that Roy was appointed as the BDO of Selsella Block in the year 2000-2006 after which he was sent back to his parent department. He was again reposed as the BDO of the same Block for the second time.

The Anti Corruption League, West Garo Hills has asked the state government to appoint a new BDO for Selsella Block in the place of recently appointed Dr D Roy.

Meanwhile, the League has sent a memorandum to the Chief Secretary of Meghalaya WMS Pariat recently demanding the appointment of a new BDO for a good administrative system for the betterment of all community in general and the people under the Selsella block in particular.
