JYF calls off picketing

 SHILLONG: The Jaintia Youth Federation, War Jaintia has called off the one-day picketing scheduled for Tuesday on the Myntdu Leshka Hydro Electric project (MLHEP) in Jaintia Hills demanding regularization of casual workers of the project.

Announcing this at a press conference here on Monday, JYF President Clackstone Khongling said the one-day picketing was called off after the Director of Corporate Affairs-Shillong M Kharmujai assured that the issue will be tackled as soon as possible.

“The Director has also assured that the matter will be taken to the Chairman of the Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited, WMS Pariat to authorize the board of Directors to create new posts and appoint the causal workers of MLHEP “, Khongling claimed.
