Inter District cricket tourney
SHILLONG: Shillong Cricket Association (SCA) thrashed All Jaintia Cricket Association (AJCA) by 174 runs to register another convincing win in a league match of the Inter District Under-19 Cricket Tournament organized by Meghalaya Cricket Association at Cricket Ground, Polo here on Monday.
SCA won the toss and opted to bat first. The SCA batters scored at a brisk pace and looked set to pile up a huge score. However the brilliant fielding and positive attitude of the All Jaintia players restricted the team from Shillong to 219 for the loss of 10 wickets in 45.1 overs. Raj Biswa continued his superb form scoring 67 of 75 balls while Sylvester Mylliempdah came up with a cameo of 34 in 45 balls. Lakhon Bareh picked four wickets for All Jaintia.
In reply, All Jaintia could muster only 45 runs in 16.4 overs losing all their wickets in the process. Heiser Bareh (12) was the only player to reach double digit figure from the team. Pynkmen Shangpliang claimed four wickets for SCA.
The next match of the tournament will be played on November 25 between Ri-Bhoi & West Khasi Hills.
