SHILLONG: More than 200 Village Defence Party (VDP) volunteers attended the first VDP rally of Pynursla Circle which was held at Pynursla police station on Tuesday.
Besides VDP volunteers, Sordars and Headmen of different villages attended the rally. The rally was presided by SP (City) M Kharkrang, and VDP adviser SG Khongjong spoke during the rally.
Speaking on the occasion, Kharkrang dwelt on the social evils like gambling, alcoholism which has bearing on crimes like murder, rape and molestation.
