 SHILLONG: Prof S Ramaa has taken over the charge of Principal, North East Regional Institute of Education (NERIE), Shillong recently. Prof Ramaa, a highly qualified professional in various fields of education, was serving as a Professor in Department of Education, Regional Institute of Education (RIE), Mysore prior to joining NERIE. Prof Ramaa after taking over as Principal has initiated a series of moves in order to offer pre-service courses such as B.Ed (two years) and M.Ed (one year) at NERIE, Shillong which is going to benefit the student community not only from the state but also from the region. She has also intended to make NERIE as one of the Institute of Advanced Studies in Education(IASE).
