SHILLONG: One, Timoris Syiemlieh(50) of Sohphoh village, East Khasi Hills was brutally murdered by her own husband, Probinel Kharsyiemiong (58) who slashed her with a dao, separating her head from her body in a paddy field at 12.30pm on Monday. According to police, the accused Kharsyiemiong committed the crime when he was in the paddy field along with his wife Timoris. “They might have quarelled over something after which the frustrated husband slashed his wife with the dao leading to her death”, police said. Later, the accused even tried to end his life using but was stopped and rushed to Shillong Civil hospital immediately with various cut wounds. Police informed that that it could have been because of the illegitimate relationship the wife was having that led Kharsyiemiong to take the extreme step.
