Tura teen to represent state at Natl badminton C’ships

TURA: Tura teen Jachri Cheran Momin who is Meghalaya’s No. 1 badminton player in the U-15 Girls category will represent the state at the National Junior Badminton Championship to be held at Indira Gandhi Stadium in New Delhi from December 4.

The teenager who is a former student of Sherwood School is undergoing training at the Kanaklata Stadium of the Assam Badminton Academy in Guwahati under the guidance of Indonesian Coach Faizal Rehman and Mustak Ali. She will compete for the singles and doubles crown.

A enthusiastic athlete and a serious badminton player she took to the game at an early age of eight.

‘It is going to be very tough being pitted against top players but I am determined to fight it out to reach the top. I will give my very best,” said Jachri Momin.
