Agreement to further cancer detection kit

 SHILLONG: In a first Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) model arrangement between academia and industry, NEHU recently signed an agreement with M/s Ind-Swift Ltd (a Pharmaceutical Company) and Prof RN Sharan of the Department of Biochemistry to further the Sharan’s seminal research on a blood-based cancer detection technology. Prof Sharan has already filed an Indian patent on his cancer detection technology in 2008. M/s Ind-Swift is very keen on taking this research further to make a product so that society at large benefits from the over two-decade long painstaking research of Prof. Sharan.
