Call for utilising services of trained homeguards

SHILLONG: The Director General, Civil Defence & Home Guards, Shillong Prem Singh has sought for more volunteers trained by the department to be deployed by government departments and agencies so that the training imparted to them is put to good use and they are gainfully employed. A number of trained home guard volunteers are performing security duty with many government departments and private agencies.

The D G further informed that any central or state government department, nationalized or private banks, nationalized or private insurance companies, educational institutions or private companies / firms that would like to requisite the services of trained home guards volunteers may contact the following officers – District Home Guards Commandant, Shillong (0364-2225741/9863452194); District Home Guards Commandant, Jowai (03652-223828/9856625678); District Home Guards Commandant, Tura (03651-232663/8014394570) and may also contact the Directorate – Joint Director of Civil Defence & Joint Commandant General of Home Guards, Shillong (0364-2503927/9436100214).
