Craft and textiles exhibition

 SHILLONG: The 10-day North Eastern Exhibition of Craft and Textiles was inaugurated on Thursday by Marketing Manager, North Eastern Handicrafts & Handlooms Development Corporation (NEHHDC) Ltd, Tapan Kumar Sarma. The December 1-12 exhibition is sponsored by the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Government of India, Ministry of Textiles and co-sponsored by the Ministry of DONER at All Saints Cathedral Campus.

Mr Sarma in his speech said that the exhibition is a marketing platform for the artisans and weavers of Meghalaya so that they can get proper scope for sale of their products at reasonable price. He further said that NEHHDC is organizing about 100 such events every year all over the country, where artisans from Meghalaya are also taking part with their exquisite handicraft products including green bamboo basketry.
