JOWAI: The Jaintia Students’ Union (JSU) Narpuh Circle has demanded dependent inquiry into the discoloration of Lukha river in Jaintia hills killing thousands of fishes.

“We don’t trust either the magisterial inquiry or the investigation taken up by the Meghalaya State Pullution Board (MSPCB)”, JSU President, Sunny Bareh said.

The Union will soon meet the Chief Minister to apprise him of the discoloration of Lukha river that had badly affected the local people residing near the river bank.
