International Day of Disabled Persons

Sanker will be observing the International Day of Disabled Persons in its premises at 10am here on Saturday with an aim to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disability.

Appeal

The All Boro Students’ Union (ASSU) submitted a memorandum to the chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma requesting the government to take necessary steps to confirm the status of abducted BDO of Dadenggre PK Boro within a day or two at the same time, urged the government to rescue him safe and secure.

 Mei-Ramew Festival

As part of the Mother Earth Day, the Khatarshnong Socio-Organisation (KSO) and the William Boys Home, Mawphlang will organize a food festival called ‘the Mei Ramew Festival’ at Mawphlang on December 10.

 KSU meeting

The KSU will have its CEC meeting on Monday at 1 pm in its central office. The agenda for the meeting will be influx and election of new office bearers.

The Sub Divisional Officer (S), Sohra Civil Sub Division has invited applications from interested persons/cooperative societies, NGO’s and SHG for appointment as Government Nominee/Wholesale Dealership in PDS for the year 2012 at Mawdok, Ladsohbar, Laitryngew, Shella and Sohra. TInterested parties are to contact him for application form and other details before December 15.

Award

Wantreki Lyngdoh Mawphlang from Shillong College was awarded the Indira Gandhi National Award for the best NSS Volunteer for the year 2010-11 on November 19 at New Delhi.

Announcement

The personal interview scheduled to be held on December 7 for the post of Research Assistant under Planning Department has been deferred to December 19, 20 and 21.

 Musical extravaganza

Shillong will host a musical extravaganza with two artists from Bangalore, Vaibhab and Ambarish popularly known as Bangalore Brothers.

The programme has been organized by Art of living Shillong chapter for music loving people of Shillong.

The musical evening will be held at Sri Aurobindo Institute of Indian Culture on Sunday at 4pm. Meghalaya.
