Los Angeles: Troubled actor Charlie Sheen paid ex-wife Brooke Mueller’s USD 11,000 bail after she was arrested on the suspicion of felony cocaine possession and a misdemeanour charge of assault.

The 34-year-old reality TV star, who was arrested in Aspen, Colorado, had originally called her parents for help, but they refused.

It was her former spouse who came to her rescue, reported Ace Showbiz. Mueller, has two-year-old twins, Bob and Max, with the former Two and a Half Men actor, Sheen.

“They (her parents) actually wanted to leave her in jail. Brooke’s family is done with her, she has to get straight or she is going to die,” a source said.

Mueller, who has battled drink and drug addictions in the past and has received treatment in rehab, must return for a District Court hearing on December 19. If she is found guilty in the drug charge, Mueller could face up to six years in prison.

“When someone is found to have more than a certain amount of the drug they are charged with intent to distribute,” a police spokesman said.

Mueller went spiralling down when she split from Sheen over Christmas 2009 domestic violence. She has been in and out of rehab since then and Sheen had to save her from an aggressive treatment of substance abuse in Mexico earlier this year.

Earlier this year, Mueller and Sheen, who share custody of the children, rekindled their romance but they soon split again and she moved out of his Los Angeles home. (PTI)
