Wild fruits displayed at exhibition

 JOWAI: Edible wild fruits, hybrid and tissue- culture flowers were displayed by farmers during the district level exhibition cum seminar organised by the District Horticulture Office, Jowai at Tympang Club playground on Tuesday.

Hundreds of farmers from all across Jaintia Hills participated in the exhibition cum seminar and exhibited their various produces.The Jaintia hills Deputy Commissioner; T. Dkhar who was the chief guest on the occasion lauded the department for organizing the exhibition for the welfare of the farmers in the district.“Eighty percent of the total population in Jaintia Hills are farmers falling below poverty line”, Dkhar said.
