SHILLONG: Another major controversy has emerged in the implementation of the MGNREGS in the State.

This time the controversy is in relation with the MGNREGS implementation at Chisakgre village in West Garo Hills. It is reported that Village Employment Council (VEC) president Tangansing Marak and its secretary Lindstone G Momin of Chisakgre village have withdrawn Rs 1,47,420 from the account of MGNREGS Chisakgre (WGH) at SBI Dobasipara Branch (WGH) on December 1.

After withdrawing the money, both of them disappeared from the village. Gambegre Block Development Officer (BDO) AC Marak has lodged a police complaint in this connection.
