IMPHAL: In a move to put pressure on both the State and Central Governments to make more clear regarding the issue of “Supra-State Body”, the BJP Wednesday said the party does not trust with the clarification made by the Prime Minister during his recent visit to Manipur on the proposed offer to the Nagas by the UPA Government at the Centre.

The recent trip of Prime Minister Dr. Manmohon Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi to the State was “unfortunate”.

Every visit that is paid by the Prime Minister generates big hope for the people of a particular State.

But, for Manipur it is not likely because Rs. 6,000 crore package sought by the State Chief Minister during the visit resulted in a blank response.

It was rejected by Dr. Singh by not uttering a single word on the proposal, BJP national executive member, M. Bhorot told a press meet at the party office here on Wednesday.

Bhorot dubbed the response of the Prime Minister as “being distrust” to the ruling Secular Progressive Front (SPF) Government headed by Okram Ibobi Singh that may not come back to power and also showed that the days of the Chief minister has now dwindled to number.

The State Government though lavishly spent crores of rupees to make arrangements for the visit in beautification, long fencing which stretched from Imphal Tulihal Airport to all the venues where the Prime Minister inaugurated mega structures came out to be useless as a single person refused to take out on the streets, Bhorot said.

The opposition leader and BJP MLA of Panaji, Manohar Parrikkar has recently filed a complaint against three top politicians of Congress party.

They include Luizinho Faleiro, Congress party in-charge of Manipur, alleged L. Basanta Sharma, media and publicity secretary of Manipur State BJP at the press meet.

The three leaders are locked in a controversy involving abused of power in Goa land scam worth about 400 crores of rupees, he added. (NNN)
