 SHILLONG: Steel Plant Services Board (SPSB) continued its dominance at the 34th Junior National Archery Championship, under way at Cricket Ground near Jawaharlal Nehru Sports Complex (JNSC), here on Wednesday.

SPSB won a total of seven gold, six silver and two bronze medals on the third day of the four-day tournament.

Among the Northeastern States, only archers from Manipur and Assam found place among the medal winners.

Hosts Meghalaya’s failure to open account has disappointed the home crowd.

Meanwhile, O Naobi Chanu of Manipur won her second gold of the championship by winning the 40-meter Indian Round Girls with a total of 334 points. Sangeeta Murmu of SPSB won silver (327 points) while Anjali Brahma of Assam bagged bronze (323 points). Gehela Boro of Assam won the gold in the 30-meter Indian Round Girls with total score of 329 points while Naobi Chanu of Manipur this time has to be satisfied with silver with a total score of 325 points. Anjali Brahma of Assam won bronze in the event (which is her second in the championship) with total of 323 points.

However, Assam bagged gold in Girls’ Team Event with the total score of 214 points while Manipur won the silver (207 points). The bronze went to West Bengal.

Moreover, Assam got three more bronze on the third day. Himani Boro got it in the 50-meter Recurve Round (girls) while Sanjay Boro in the 30-meter Recurve Round (boys). Khagen Basumatry in the 30-meter Indian Round.

Earlier, Urban Affairs Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh released the official souvenir of the championship.
