Cleaning drive

A cleaning drive will undertaken in Rilbong and adjoining area on December 10 (Saturday) from 8-30am to 12 noon. The drive is organised by Art of Living, Rilbong-Kench’s Trace Cultural Club and Dorbar Shnong jointly. In the evening Health and happiness programme and Art of living satsang will take place in Rilbong Community Hall.

Meeting

The Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority in collaboration with the Meghalaya State Legal Forum will observe “World Human Rights Day” on December 10 at High Court Complex at 11am.

Woman held

Mylliem Police on Friday arrested a unknown woman in an inebriated condition. The women was lying on the street near Mawngap Stand, Mawngap. According to eye witnesses, the woman came to Paramount restaurant at Mawngap stand with a man. The man disappeared from the scene, sources said.

Blood camp

The National Rural Health Mission, Department of Health Services (MCH & FW), Meghalaya is organizing a blood donation camp on December 10 at Pasteur Institute, Lawmali from 10am onwards.

Officers’ course

The Meghalaya Bharat Scouts & Guides, State Secretary has informed that 39 district officers from Northeast attended the Northeast Regional District Level Officer’s Course which was organized by the North East Regional, Bharat Scouts & Guides, Guwahati at State Headquarters of Bharat Scouts & Guides, Shillong. The Bharat Scouts & Guides, Raffle Draw is also postponed to February.

Exhibition

A two-day 19th district-level industrial exhibition, 2011 organized by the District Commerce & Industries centre, Ri Bhoi District was organized at the premises of the District Commerce & Industries centre, Nongpoh from December 7. The exhibition was inaugurated by Mr I Mawlong, Additional District Magistrate, Nongpoh.

Deputy Chief Minister BM Lanong will inaugurate the Earle Holiday Home Annexe at Oakland Road on December 14 at 12:30pm.

Citrus Expo

Hundred of farmers from Ri Bhoi district displayed their citrus fruits like orange, Assasm lemon, pomello, soh nairiang, sohjew khasi etc. at a one-day district level Citrus Expo, on the premises of NSCA Stadium, Pahamsyiem, Nongpoh. The expo was organized by the Directorate of Horticulture, Meghalaya. Parliamentary Secretary, Family & Health Welfare and Tourism, PW Khongji graced the occasion as the chief guest.

 Awareness prog

A one-day awareness programme on the theme “Conserve & Preserve the Environment” was held recently at Saitsohpen Community Hall, Sohra. JD Suchiang, SDO (C), Sohra, was the chief guest. Suchiang lauded the members of Greenfield School for taking such an initiative.
