SHILLONG: Tanushree Das Gupta, Camelia Diengdoh and Bianchi Ch Sangma of the Meghalaya Cadet and Junior TT team made it to the pre-quarterfinals of the 73rd National Table Tennis Championships held at Kochi recently.
It was for the first time that the state sub junior girl’s team has made it to the pre-quarterfinal stage.
Meanwhile, Tanushree, who is also ranked 25th in the country, qualified for the main draw after defeating opponents from Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana in the individual event.
The State team was accompanied by coach LL Nonglait and manager Saibal Dasgupta.
Tanushree was also the winner at the State TT championship held in October.
