ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Governor (Retd) General J J Singh on Wednesday said tourism is one of the strong points of development in the state and it must be harnessed to the optimum.
The Governor reviewed the development in tourism section of the state with principal secretary, Tourism, G.N. Sinha and director, Tourism, A K Singh at Raj Bhavan here on Wednesday, according to official sources.
In the meeting, in addition to many projects in the state, the Governor reviewed the progress of works of the Institute of Hotel Management, Applied Nutrition and Catering Technology at Banderdewa and Adventure Tourism Camping destination site at Jote and Tourist Information Counter at Guwahati Airport.
Advocating for inclusion of more places, like Walong and places of tourist interest in Tirap and Changlang districts in the tourism circuits, Mr Singh said that these places have huge tourism potential but due to non-inclusion, the socio-economic development of these areas are suffering. (UNI)
