Winter camp of Scouts and Guides

 SHILLONG: The District Scouts & Guides, West Khasi Hills of the Meghalaya Bharat Scouts & Guides has embark on a mission to reach the proximity of young people by organizing a first time ever winter camp of the Scouts & Guides at Mairang Presbyterian English Secondary School, Mairang recently.

The camp strength of about 200 people is drawn from school students of 10 schools covering areas of Nongstoin, Mawkyrwat, Riangdo, Mairang, Mawlamwir and Rangblang. The camp is an initiative by the District Association to give in more beneficial youth programme in conjunction with education to the growing young people. The camp imparted trainings on leadership, scouting as a way of life, first aid and many important subjects.

The camp was fully financed and staffed by the leaders of the district under the leadership of the District School Education Officer who is also the District Chief Commissioner and Shri B Mawlieh, District Secretary and the resource person Gary James and the Bharat Scouts & Guides, Shillong.
