Rs 39 lakh allotted for schemes under SRWP

 SHILLONG: The Nongkrem MLA Ardent Basaiawmoit has allotted a total amount of Rs 39 lakh for various schemes and projects in his constituency under the Special Rural Works Programme (SRWP).

The money was allotted with the purpose of bringing about development in the area. Basaiawmoit has assured that the fund has been released to the beneficiaries in the most transparent manner.

As per the details, fifty thousand is allotted for construction of a public latrine at Warbah Nongkrem.

Rs 1.8 lakh for purchase of computer sets for St Peters School, Rangbihbih Pomalakrai and Rs fifty thousand for construction of   dustbin for waste disposal at Smit Pdengshnong.

3.5 lakhs has been allotted for the extension of school building at Ur Masi U Joh Presbyterian School, Rs 2.6 lakh for fencing of St Josephs Primary school at Kynton u Mon and Rs 50,000 for construction of a latrine at Church of God Nongkrem besides others.

An amount of Rs 3 lakh is allotted for construction of community hall at Mawpynthaw, Rs 2.5 lakhs for construction of a school building for Seng Khasi School at Lawsohtun, Rs eighty thousand for purchase of furniture for Pine View Academy School at Lawsohtun and Rs 10,000 each is being provided to eighteen people for self employment.
