SHILLONG: The Syiem (Chieftain) of Hima Nongspung has requested the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) to extend the deadline set for the hearing of the case which involved the secret signing of the No Objection Certificate (NOC) with the Assam government for constructing a 10-kilometer stretch of road deep inside Ri Bhoi district under the PMGSY Scheme.

It may be mentioned that the final hearing was supposed to be held on December 19 but due to the unavoidable circumstances, the Syiem of Hima Nongspung PR Syiem has asked the KHADC to extend the date to January 12.

The same has been granted by the KHADC through the decision of the Executive Member KHADC in charge Elaka, Lamphrang Blah.

Informing this to reporters here recently, EM Elaka Lamphrang Blah said the hearing has been postponed due to the fact that the lawyer of the Syiem sought for an extension of the date. However, it has been decided that the new date has been fixed and the hearing will be held on January 12 next year, Blah added.
