KOHIMA: The Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation (ENPO) and the Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) on Friday asked all Naga political groups and factions in the eastern areas to cease all hostilities immediately.

In a note the ENSF stated that the ENPO had reaffirmed the eastern areas as being ‘peace zone’ as declared on December 18, 2007, while the ENSF had banned ‘total bloodshed’ in these areas. ”The ENPO had an emergency meeting at Tuensang yesterday to review the situation after hearing about the firing incident at Ghukiye. The meeting was attended by ENPO officials, tribal leaders, GPRN NSCN(K), GPRN NSCN (Khole-Kitovi) and NSCN GPRN (IM). The meeting unanimously decided to reaffirm and declare ENPO jurisdiction as peace zone,” the note further stated.

Further, the ENSF has asked all the underground factions to refrain from bloodshed within the ENPO jurisdiction and said the organisation had resolved to ‘ban total bloodshed’ within its areas. (UNI)
