KOHIMA: The Zeliang Students’ Union, Nagaland (ZSUN) has termed recent advertisement of Education Department as ‘unfortunate’, saying same yardstick was not accorded to Zeliang tribe (backward tribe) candidates, who were equally backward.

In a representation, the ZSUN said the government should frame uniform policy with the same yardstick for the people in the same category, particularly the educational qualification of 10+2 (Pre-University) with 40 per cent and above as qualified to apply for the post of under graduate teacher for all backward tribes. It requested the department to correct it uniformly by considering relaxation to Zeliang candidates to qualify for application to the post of Physical Training (PT) with educational qualification of 10+2 (PU) with 40 per cent and above.

ZSUN said the number of posts for PT and General Teacher for Peren district could be specified. (UNI)
