New-born buried alive, mother held

 NONGSTOIN: Police have arrested one Aidalin Nongpud (17) of Patharkhnang village, West Khasi Hills district, for allegedly burying alive her new born baby (boy) in a garden near her house on December 20.

According to sources, the baby was wrapped in a skirt when it was buried.

A group of children saw a dog pulling out a baby from the ground on December 24 and they informed the elders of the village about it, sources said.

During the inquiry conducted by the village dorbar, it was found that the skirt was of Aidalin. She also later confessed to the crime.
