Two HPF members resign

Shillong: A day after the arrest of its three members on extortion charge, two senior functionaries of Hynniewtrep People’s Federation (HPF) — Kitkupar Sunn and Banlumlang Lyngdoh– tendered their resignations.

In a statement issued here on Friday, the duo said they decided to leave the organization due to personal some reasons.

It may be recalled that Police on Thursday arrested three members of HPF from Quinton Road area of the city on charges of demanding money from a restaurant-cum-bar at Police Bazaar.

The arrested HPF members are its general secretary Gordon Khongsit, publicity secretary Kitborlang Lyngdoh and assistant publicity secretary Marshall Wahlang.
